Our March tour started out with a bang last night in St. Louis at B.B.s Jazz, Blues and Soups. My old friend John rolled out the red carpet as always and we had a great evening. Met a lot of new friends and had a perfect night. I was at the helm for the 7hr. drive to Manatowoc, WI today and am in my lavish econo lodge dwelling just sitting down to take care of biz on my laptop. This is life on the road - last night at the Millenium downtown St. Louis, now on lake Michigan in a funky little town in a shit hole. Up down - up down. You know you're going to get the obligatory long black hair somewhere in your room - I just didn't expect it to be on the controls of the heater under that little door; the first thing I touched because my room is wine cellar temp. Fucking gross. Anyway - band is awesome and we get along great - all is well. Special thanks to my team back home - especially Zach for house sitting for me. Be back soon!!!! wish me luck tonight.

3 hours from home – Wyoming to Dayton in 28 hours with an eight hour layover in a particularly shitty Motel 6 somewhere in Missouri. Saturday in Rock Springs was one of my most rewarding musical experiences that I can remember. We played the Sweetwater Blues and Brew fest for the second year and absolutely killed it. We have great friends and fans in Wyoming and it showed. When we were checking in, I ran into headliner and Grammy nominee Randy McAllister who is an amazing talent and most importantly a great guy. We met last year and he inquired about my set time and showed up for our show and enjoyed it enough to invite me up to sit in with him during his set. In all my years, a headliner has never asked me up to play – it was beyond cool. The person who originally brought me to Rock Springs is Johnny “Mac” McDonald – a man who I've grown quite close to over the years. He owns Johnny Mac's, a great club where we have played many times. At the last minute we decided to have a jam after the show with all the acts from the festival – needless to say the word got out and we had a packed house and a wonderful experience. Thanks to Randy and his band, Hamilton Loomis and his band, and the killer trumpet from Lionel Young's band.
Lastly I want to thank Gary Gates and Adam Wheeler for being amazing musicians as well as great travel partners and friends. We had a great time. Next week look for us in IlL and MO – ending next Monday at the House of Blues Chicago.

So against my bettter judgement, we played at the Pepper Mill again in Rawlins WY - wow - all I can say is wow. Good show - tight ass band, but just the strangest group we have ever played for (except for last year). Weird thing is that our tip jar was full to the top - but a strange feeling nonetheless. I've always said that when you have a band that plays blues-rock music, it generally isn't a good idea to play Metallica, Eminem, Country hits, and Cha Cha Slide on the set brakes - as Gary would put it: "just sayin." On a neat side note, laying in the grass next to our hotel were 20-30 antelope (strange site for us) - however cool and beautiful - shit they walk down the street! Anyway - just in our beautiful rooms in Rock Springs WY - ready to kill the blues and brews fest today. Can't wait.

August 10 - Rollin down the highway. Nebraska sort of sucks to drive through - I'm just saying. Last night fucking rocked and all the new songs were amazingly well received - best compliment was from my friend Issac (who came from Sioux City with our friend Rick Cava) who said of my new tunes: "I didn't see that coming." So a new direction is underway and I couldn't be more pleased with it. Just polished off a bottle of French Rose' (2011) and enjoying the ride - wish us luck in Rawlins WY tonight - good lord!!!

Greetings from the wild west - just had a great dining experience at Lalebela Ethiopian Restaurant. Owner Mulualem made us an authentic dinner and coffee. Last night turned out great at Cadillac Jacks in Baxter Iowa - our big bike night got rained out unfortunately so we played inside to many appreciative fans and old friends - thanks to Joan and Regan the new owners. We are playing 5 new songs live and this band is so fucking tight and in tune with my new material - very rewarding. Gary Gates and Adam Wheeler are true pros and a pleasure to tour with - we get along great and are having a blast. In Omaha now getting ready to have dinner with old friends (thanks Bill and Big Rich) - what truly nice peeps and gracious friends. I'm pumped - more to follow.
